LENT COURSES: Our daytime Lent Course this year will be devoted to exploring Matthew's Gospel. We'll be discussing the ways in which our understanding of God at work through Christ is shaped by the stories of the people whose experiences are described by Matthew, and we'll be exploring the ways in which those stories can help develop our own faith. The course will run on the following Mondays, from 10 am-11.30 at St. Anne's: Monday 23rd February, 2nd March, 9th March and 16th March. Everyone is welcome! Please see Peter Shears for more details.

Mystical Dimensions of John's Gospel: A Course for Lent led by Reverend Ben Brown

John's Gospel is a mystical work of great depth and beauty. In four evening sessions we will be looking at how it draws us into a richer vision of human and divine reality; how Christ indwells us; how the natural world is a sign of the divine; how the spiritual life leads us to loving, vulnerable action in the world.

Wednesdays at 7pm. 1: In the beginning was the word. We look at the opening chapter of the Gospel.

(25th February); 2: The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water. This session is a chance to reflect on the implications for our spiritual discipleship as we consider Jesus' conversation with a woman at a well. (March 4th); 3: You will never wash my feet. We reflect on the symbolic importance of Jesus' washing of his disciples' feet. (March 11th). Abiding and Indwelling. In our final evening we consider the importance of these two concepts, abiding and indwelling, and what it means for our own experience of God. (March 18th).

SOCIAL SECRETARY: Hospitality is very important at St Anne’s. We are looking for a social secretary who can co-ordinate future events but not necessarily have to be present at every occasion. If you are interested in the role and would like further information please speak to either Jackie or Mary-Rose.

F.S.W.: Used ink-jet cartridges. Please remember we are very happy to accept used or out of date cartridges to be recycled and the money raised goes to Family Support Work. (Please note we CANNOT take Laser, Laser-Jet or toner and we cannot dispose of them.)

ST ANNE'S WEBSITE: www.stanneslewes.org.uk - Our website offers resources for our growth in discipleship. On the website you can now find recent sermons collated in one place under the tag sermons. Also, we have a regular slot called Spiritual Reflections which aims to look at questions of faith in a fresh, imaginative way. Contact Ashley or Ben if you can't find the content.

ONLINE AND CARD TRANSACTIONS: Donations can also be made through our website (the DONATE button is in the top right-hand corner of every page).
