THIS THURSDAY (30th) A NEW COURSE: READING THE MYSTICS. Six meetings where we will be reading and discussing selections, from Julian of Norwich to Meister Eckhart. The aim is to become more familiar with the vision of the mystics, their sense of how God is present in all things and within us, the reality of love, how we can become present to God. The aim of the group is to create a place of informal discussion and reflection as to how we can all enrich and deepen our sense of the divine. Note: this will be held at ST. MICHAEL'S CHURCH, 7pm to 8:30pm. Please contact me if you'd like to receive the first set of readings. Ben (rectorstanneslewes@gmail.com).
FLINT WALL UPDATE: Firstly our fundraising has been very successful with a total of approximately £32,000 raised – thank you for all your support. Our initial plan for repair has been delayed by the new costs of traffic management, which tripled on 1st April 2025. Following a meeting with our architect and the Flint wall company, we plan to proceed with repairing the holes at the eastern end of the wall. They will then repair as much of the wall as it feels safe to do so. Any surplus funds will be kept for the further more extensive work which will be required at some time in the future.
FAMILY SUPPORT WORK FOOD BANK: The box is out for any donations. You can also give a cash donation (leave it in the bag next to the donation box), or by card.
ST ANNE'S WEBSITE: www.stanneslewes.org.uk - Our website offers resources for our growth in discipleship. On the website you can now find recent sermons collated in one place under the tag sermons. Also, we have a regular slot called Spiritual Reflections which aims to look at questions of faith in a fresh, imaginative way. Contact Ashley or Ben if you can't find the content.
ONLINE AND CARD TRANSACTIONS: Donations can also be made through our website (the DONATE button is in the top right-hand corner of every page).
