AFTER THE SERVICE: After church people stay and have tea or coffee. Others leave and get on with their day. A time of worship can be transformative and joyful but it may also lead us into deeper reflection. Perhaps you wish to talk about something or pray about something? If you would like to talk to somebody after the service today, talk to Ben. You may want to find a space to pray or make an appointment to discuss something at a later date.
NO EVENSONG THIS EVENING. As the Festival of Music is on today.
COFFEE MORNING, this Thursday (3rd) 10-11 a.m.: Come and chat over tea/coffee and cake.
QUIZ NIGHT REPORT: The quiz night was very popular with several teams taking part. We thank all those who came and supported the event. We also thank Jane, Anne, Jackie, Jenny and Ashley for providing the food and drinks, and to Sam and Steph for doing the questions. The evening raised £729.00
THE TOTAL FOR THE FLINT WALL STANDS AT OVER £4000 (with further substantial amounts pledged)!
THE MUSIC NEVER ENDS: “A play with songs” 11th July 7 p.m. Featuring West End performers Karen Ascoe and Stephen Rashbrook with pianist Dominic Barlow. It includes jazz standards and Broadway classics. There will be drinks and nibbles. The event is FREE but all donations (by cash or card) gratefully appreciated.
PRAYER AT ST. ANNE'S: Over the months more people have begun regularly attending our service of Morning Prayer, 9:15-9:45am, Mon-Fri. A new regular attendee said it was a wonderful way to start the day. The mixture of prayer and extraordinary passages from the Bible is a rich and reflective mix. Perhaps think about a day which best suits you. Meanwhile, Silent Prayer, 7pm, Tuesdays, continues to grow. We now have around 17 regular worshippers. This is now becoming a contemplative community, many of whom are not Sunday worshippers. We gather and enter a time of quiet, followed by a reading. Sometimes after the time of prayer there is discussion, sometimes not. You are very welcome to come and see.
ST ANNE'S WEBSITE: www.stanneslewes.org.uk - Our website offers resources for our growth in discipleship. On the website you can now find recent sermons collated in one place under the tag sermons. Also, we have a regular slot called Spiritual Reflections which aims to look at questions of faith in a fresh, imaginative way. Contact Ashley or Ben if you can't find the content.
ONLINE AND CARD TRANSACTIONS: Donations can also be made through our website (the DONATE button is in the top right-hand corner of every page).
