FLINT WALL APPEAL
The appeal was launched on May 9th with ‘This is my story, this is my song’, performed by Philip Griffiths. A wonderful musical and joyful evening was enjoyed. The event raised more than £1700. Together with other generous donations, we have now raised over £3000. Thank you very much to Philip, helpers, attendees and especially to all those who have donated.
The next event is the Quiz on Friday 20 June, 6 pm, at St. Anne’s Church. Collect together your team of 6 (maximum number) for a wide-ranging quiz. Donations (instead of tickets) will be collected, enabling participation in the quiz and a free glass of wine and nibbles during the interval. If anyone has a suitable prize they would like to donate for the event, please speak to the Churchwardens.
FAMILY SUPPORT WORK Food bank: We still donate to F.S.W. with their much needed work supporting families in need. If you can give any of the following, it would be much appreciated: tinned food or vegetables (not fresh produce), boxed cereals, tea, coffee, jams and marmalades, etc. Please bring them to the church before Thursday 5th June, when they will be collected by F.S.W.
GIVING TO ST. ANNE’S: Gift Aid Envelopes. Many of you will have seen others putting coloured envelopes (which are currently blue) into the collection bags, this is another way to give money to the Church and it means we can claim Gift Aid (we receive an additional 25% on top of the amount donated). The envelopes are good for those who want to donate, but cannot always give the same amount every week, and it can be cash or cheque. You are supplied with a year’s worth of envelopes which are dated and numbered, you put your donation in that week’s envelope, seal it, and pop it into the collection bag as normal. We thank all those who currently use this scheme, because it brings in over £100 each week. If you would like more information, please speak to Ashley.
ST ANNE'S WEBSITE: www.stanneslewes.org.uk - Our website offers resources for our growth in discipleship. On the website you can now find recent sermons collated in one place under the tag sermons. Also, we have a regular slot called Spiritual Reflections which aims to look at questions of faith in a fresh, imaginative way. Contact Ashley or Ben if you can't find the content.
ONLINE AND CARD TRANSACTIONS: Donations can also be made through our website (the DONATE button is in the top right-hand corner of every page).
