ST MARY’S KITCHEN APPEAL: Two volunteer Collectors required for evening of 17th October. Nevill Juvenile Bonfire Society is very kindly collecting for our St. Mary's Kitchen Appeal during their Bonfire procession around the Nevill on the evening of 17th October from 6 p.m. They have asked if we can provide some collectors, Mary-Rose, Peter and Ashley have already volunteered but we would like the help of two more people. PLEASE NOTE: This is quite a physical role as Nevill is on a steep hill and you process round the streets for three hours carrying a donation bucket. There is also quite a bit of noise as you go round. Please see Ashley for more information.
THE PEOPLE’S EMERGENCY BRIEFING: Friday 16th October 7pm-9pm.
What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday life in Lewes?
Join us for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing - an eye-opening 50-minute film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like: Extreme weather, Food security, Health, Cost of living.
The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.
After the film there will be an open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do locally. Tickets are FREE but the space is limited, so if you can, please book in advance: https://buytickets.at/wendymaples/2465621 Learn more at National Emergency Briefing on climate & nature
