St Mary’s Church Hall Appeal

The St. Mary’s Church Hall appeal was launched on 6th June 2026.   A group from the Nevill estate and St.Anne’s parish enjoyed cake, coffee and considering fund raising ideas.  Once in the hall, the range of organisations regularly using the hall was apparent. These  community activities include dance, exercise and relaxation classes, badminton, family parties, meetings of the Nevill Residents’ Association, Lewes Nevill WI, Friends of Landport Bottom, music rehearsals.and Nevill bonfire events. 

 

Those frequently using the hall were very aware of the need for keeping the building maintained and modern. The kitchen is the first project to be identified. The target of £10,000 has been set to cover this maintenance.

 

A series of fundraising events have been agreed.  The first few are detailed below.

 

Quiz on Friday 24 July at 7pm in St Anne's Church: please come on your own or with friends.  Entry is free, donations are welcome and can be gift aided.  There will be refreshments. 

 

Book and Cake Sale Saturday 19 September 10am – 2pm in St.Anne’s.  This annual event is an opportunity for finding your reading for the next year.

 

‘Putting It Together’,on Friday 25 September at 7pm in St Anne’s Church: this will be a musical evening by Philip Griffiths, followed by Questions and Answers.

 

Tea Concert on Sunday November 22nd 4-5.45pm at St. Mary’s Church Hall. 

 

A History talk is being planned.

 

We are delighted to announce we have already raised £2,600 towards our £10,000 target.
