TODAY: CARITAS: Please come to our new monthly evening service today at St. Anne's at 6:30pm. Tonight the service is called music and silence; there will be some readings, some peace, and some music, a contemplative end of the day.
TWO THANK YOUS: Firstly, a heartfelt thank you to all who worked to make our Harvest lunch such a success. It was a great event, talking, eating, and connecting. It was the fruit of much hard work and planning and we are enormously grateful.
Also thank you for the wonderful response to Family Support Work's Harvest Appeal. (It's not too late to donate any packet or tinned goods – sorry, no fresh produce).
GIVING AT ST ANNE'S: Please consider helping our work here by donating or becoming a regular giver; what you give supports our worship, our pastoral work, our community outreach and much more. If you'd like more details of what St. Anne's does or how to donate please talk to Ben, Judith or our churchwardens.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK. This week during Morning Prayer we had these two verses from the Bible. 'The compassion of the Lord is for every living thing' (Sirach 18:13) and Jesus' words, 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?' (15:34). Two aspects of God's love being described. That God loves all of creation with a love impossible to comprehend. And that in Christ, God entered completely into the furthest reaches of human pain and alienation. At this time it is worth contemplating these facets of God's love.
ST ANNE'S WEBSITE: www.stanneslewes.org.uk - This is a reminder that our website offers resources for our growth in discipleship. On the website you can now find recent sermons collated in one place under the tag sermons. Also, we have a regular slot called Spiritual Reflections which aims to look at questions of faith in a fresh, imaginative way. Contact Ashley or Ben if you can't find the content.
ONLINE AND CARD TRANSACTIONS: Donations can also be made through our website (the DONATE button is in the top right-hand corner of every page).
