We invite you to join a vigil for the climate, welcoming people of all faiths and none to watch and pray for our planet and all who call it home. We want to stand in solidarity with those who are vulnerable to suffering the worst consequences of the climate crisis and amplify their voices as global leaders make commitments about climate finance and emissions targets.
The vigil will mark the beginning of COP26 when global leaders gather for the Climate Conference in Glasgow.
We will meet at 5pm on Saturday 30th October in St Anne’s churchyard, Lewes for a public vigil and then proceed to Southover Church where the bells will be ringing out from 6pm for climate justice. There will be several stops along the route to give us time to reflect. At around 6.45pm there will be a short service for anyone able to stay.
